CEEREAL members reduce the environmental footprint of breakfast cereal production and consumption

CEEREAL members work with farmers to promote the uptake of regenerative farming principles and practices. They optimise production processes within their operations, progress towards more circularity and more sustainable packaging materials and reduce food waste along the supply chain.

CEEREAL members have developed new types of packaging that enhance their recyclability, make them fully recyclable or need less packaging.

They have adopted and expanded practices of sourcing deforestation-free ingredients.

SPOTLIGHT ON CEEREAL’s PACK FILL STANDARD

CEEREAL’s pack fill standard sets out industry obligations to minimise packaging waste, most notably by setting a minimum target fill level. It takes into account the variety in weight, density and shape of products as well as the settling effect of breakfast cereals.

Within CEEREAL, sustainability issues are addressed in the Working Group on Nutrition, Communications and Sustainability.
